ITINERARY

Day 1: Arrival in Kigali

Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be welcomed by our representative and transferred to your hotel for check-in and relaxation.

Day 2: Kigali – Nyanza Royal Palace – Nyungwe National Park

After breakfast, begin your journey southwards toward Nyungwe National Park. En route, stop in Nyanza to visit the King’s Palace Museum, offering insights into Rwanda’s pre-colonial and colonial-era history. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before continuing to Nyungwe.

Day 3: Chimpanzee Trekking & Canopy Walk – Nyungwe National Park

After an early breakfast, head into the ancient rainforest for Chimpanzee Trekking, one of Rwanda’s most exciting primate experiences. Return to the lodge for lunch.
In the afternoon, enjoy the iconic Canopy Walk, offering panoramic views of the forest and excellent birdwatching opportunities.

Day 4: Transfer to Lake Kivu – Kibuye

Depart Nyungwe after breakfast and drive to Kibuye on the shores of Lake Kivu, Rwanda’s largest lake shared with the DRC. This scenic lakeside town is ideal for relaxation. In the afternoon, enjoy a peaceful boat ride on Lake Kivu.

Day 5: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park – Cultural Experiences

After breakfast, set off for Musanze (Ruhengeri), the gateway to Volcanoes National Park.
Enjoy a traditional lunch at Red Rocks Rwanda, followed by eco-tourism activities such as basket weaving, banana beer production, pottery making, or participating in a tree-planting project.

Check in at your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Gorilla Trekking – Volcanoes National Park

Start your day early with breakfast at 6:30am, then transfer to the park headquarters for your once-in-a-lifetime Gorilla Trekking Experience in the misty forests of Volcanoes National Park.

In the afternoon, visit the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund’s Ellen DeGeneres Campus or enjoy local Intore cultural dances in Kinigi.

Day 7: Transfer to Akagera National Park

After breakfast, drive east to Akagera National Park, Rwanda’s premier savannah reserve. Upon arrival, check in and enjoy lunch.
In the afternoon, head out for a short game drive with chances of spotting elephants, lions, leopards, giraffes, buffaloes, and more.
Return to the lodge by 6 pm.

Day 8: Full-Day Game Drive – Akagera National Park

After an early breakfast, embark on a full-day game drive with a packed lunch.
Explore the park from the wooded south to the open plains of the north, maximizing opportunities to spot the Big Five and other savannah species.
Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 9: Boat Safari – Return to Kigali

Enjoy breakfast at leisure, followed by a scenic boat ride on Lake Ihema, famous for hippos, crocodiles, and abundant birdlife.
In the afternoon, drive back to Kigali and check in at your hotel for your final night in Rwanda.

Day 10: Departure

After breakfast at leisure, transfer to Kigali International Airport for your outbound flight.
