Ishasha Wilderness Camp
Ishasha Wilderness Camp is an intimate and exclusive tented camp situated in the remote southern Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park. Set beside the tranquil Ntungwe River, this camp embodies the classic, authentic wilderness experience while maintaining a high level of comfort.
The camp’s charm lies in its simplicity and deep connection to nature. It features only spacious canvas tented rooms, each with a private veranda that faces the river. The tents are comfortably furnished, featuring en-suite facilities with running water and a traditional ‘bush shower’ system, ensuring a refreshing cleanse after a dusty game drive.
The Unique Phenomenon: The Ishasha sector is globally famous for its population of tree-climbing lions, a rare behavior thought to be adopted to escape the heat and the biting tsetse flies, or to watch over their prey.
