Terms & Conditions

Clarifications to ensure a smooth experience with Wild Journeys

Booking & Confirmation

A reservation is considered active once Wild Journeys receives your written confirmation and the required deposit. By confirming a trip, you agree to these Terms and Conditions on behalf of yourself and any travelers in your party.

Payments

To secure your safari, a non-refundable deposit (usually 30 to 50 percent depending on the itinerary) is required. The remaining balance must be cleared before the start of the trip.

Payments may be made via bank transfer, mobile money, or any method approved by Wild Journeys. All bank charges are the responsibility of the client.

Pricing & Inclusions

All prices are quoted in USD unless stated otherwise. Your package will specify what is included, such as accommodation, meals, transport, permits, park entry fees, and activities. Items not indicated as included — such as personal expenses, optional activities, insurance, and visas — are considered exclusions.

Changes to Itinerary

Wild Journeys may adjust the itinerary if circumstances such as weather, park regulations, flight changes, or safety issues require it. Any modifications will be made in your best interest, and equivalent alternatives will be provided where possible.

Cancellations by Client

If you cancel your safari:

  • The deposit is always non-refundable.
  • Additional cancellation fees may apply depending on how close to the travel date the cancellation is made and the policies of service providers (lodges, airlines, parks, etc.).

Refunds, where applicable, are processed after deductions made by third-party suppliers.

Cancellations by Wild Journeys

If Wild Journeys cancels your trip due to circumstances within our control, you will receive a full refund.

If the cancellation is due to events beyond our control — such as political unrest, natural disasters, epidemics, or park closures — refunds will depend on what third-party suppliers allow.

Gorilla, Chimpanzee & Other Permits

Gorilla, chimpanzee, and related permits are issued by government authorities and are strictly non-refundable and non-transferable once booked. Wild Journeys cannot guarantee wildlife sightings, as nature is unpredictable.

Travel Documents & Health

Clients are responsible for ensuring they have valid passports, visas, yellow fever certificates, and any other required travel documents.

You are also responsible for obtaining appropriate vaccinations and consulting your doctor on health precautions.

Travel Insurance

Comprehensive travel insurance is strongly recommended for all clients. This should cover medical emergencies, evacuation, trip cancellation, lost baggage, and similar risks. Wild Journeys is not liable for losses that could have been covered by insurance.

Wildlife & Adventure Activities

All safaris and activities involve a level of natural risk. By booking with us, you acknowledge this and agree to follow all instructions from guides and rangers. Wild Journeys is not responsible for injuries, loss, or damage arising from wildlife encounters or failure to follow guidelines.

Liability

Wild Journeys acts as an agent for hotels, airlines, national parks, transport providers, and other partners. While we select reputable suppliers, we are not responsible for their acts, omissions, or service interruptions.

We are also not liable for delays, losses, or cancellations arising from events beyond our control.

Complaints

Any concerns during your safari should be raised immediately with your guide or the Wild Journeys office so we have the opportunity to resolve them quickly. Issues not reported during the trip may be harder to address afterwards.
